A Year to SOAR!

We are off to a great start for a New Year and ready to engage with the world around us. Today I shared in an experience of someone sharing our first meeting and it left me with an amazing sense of pride and confidence on who I am and how I show up. The meeting was just in passing, and left the person thankful they had met me. They shared that I had such energy and presence as I greeted my colleague and it left them wanting to know more about me. In that passing moment, they experienced three decades of lived experience as a co-contributor to teaching, coaching and learning in community with others. In community, I learned to contribute to the spaces I'm in, listen more than I talk, respect each individual for who they are and what they bring, and to create a table for others to join. I know rarely do we give ourselves credit for the work we do or how we are consistently present in shared space and time. This confidence was exuded because it is accompanied by daily work efforts that undergird how I influence others.

Being a kingdom driven entreprenur provides a standard for how we do business. I am grateful for Kingdom leaders who led by example, and taught along the way. If you're a leader, and no one is actually following then it's just a walk instead of a journey. The valuable lessons first started in my home with my parents, extended to my church which provided lessons and opportunities, and continued with each encounter that I embraced along my journey of life. Too many to name on the journey, so I'll just say thank you to all of my teachers. As a student, I gained understanding in both what I was taught, understood and experienced.

Today, I live with intention. Inviting God into my plans, and executing the plans by writing them down (goal setting) and creating a schedule for the day. At the beginning of the year, I choose a word for the year using <a href="http://www.aliedwards.come/onelittleword" data-type="web"...Read More

A Year of Intention: 2023

What does it mean to live with intention? We all love a great beginning and seeing our goals met. This desire is met when we create intentions that align what we believe with what we want in our lives. The beginning of a new year positions us to look back on what was, and look forward to what will be.

Today was my first day back in the office. A quiet workspace where I create and serve clients and colleagues. It started out great, arriving early, eating breakfast, planning my day. I had a schedule meetings and a list of thing to acomplish, but.....

I failed to use the tools and to block my schedule and get to work. Often we have great dreams and ideas but no will power or intention to get it done. Attending one more seminar, buying one more book will not get it done. It takes us setting the intention and then getting to work.

Are you ready to maximize your year? Here's how to get started:

We are the beginning of a new month, and Spring is here! This month we are all about setting intentions for every area of our life. As I was enjoying my slow morning routine of reading the word of God, and enjoying online worship at Glory Of Zion International I thought about what’s ahead this month. At the core of every accomplishment is a plan and action toward the plan. For me this is intentional living.

Living a Nested Life is a new clubhouse room that is focused on helping others to realize their goals. You can check us out on clubhouse if you are already there, and join in the conversation Monday – Friday. See our profile for room topics and conversations.

The challenge is all about setting our intentions and will follow a simple formula for success from our Living a Nested Life course.

 1. Start the day with intention by writing down your intentions for the day.

2. Check-in midday and jot down a journal note on how you are doing.

3. Reflect at the end of the day to see how the day went

Each day we will post a prompt on Instagram & Facebook to keep you focused along with my own journey and prompts for the day. That’s it! It’s that simple, and we are on this journey together. Let’s get started today. Download the guide, follow me on Facebook and Instagram.

Bring Back the Joy in Parenting

Do you remember your first days of parenting?

Preparing to bring your bundle of joy home from the hospital. Being sure that the car seat was in correctly. Being totally exhausted from lack of sleep, but still smiling as you watched the baby sleeping in their crib. Well guess what? Joy happens everyday and in every stage of parenting. It feels like we are on a hamsters wheel getting everything done, but when we slow it all down and pause, we experience these burst of joy.

Joy requires us to make it a choice. A choice that we choose everyday. Recently I revisited a gratitude journal looking for inspiration for my day. This entry spoke to the things that bring me joy and reminded me of a few lessons.

12/9/2018

Journal entry – Grateful for laughter and creative expression as I watched and danced with the boys tonight. So grateful for memory making and the joy in the walls of our home. Great Sunday worshipping and serving as a family. Kelly Ramsey

The joy of parenting gives us hope, rest, and peace. As we move through a world that is uncertain, we can hold fast to our families and create environments that nurture their spirits. Joy comes from somewhere deep inside of us. It is the burst of laugher that is laying dormant and emerges as your child does something funny, and expresses their true selves. Joy is from the well of our soul. The deep places that are awakened when we make connections, experience creative expressions, like dancing, and connect with the innermost part of whom we are.

What brings me joy?

Watching my boys play together, knowing that they are going to be two against the world and emerge victoriously.

Reconnecting with childhood as I put together a 100-piece puzzle and a beautiful image emerges.

Baking teacakes and sharing them with friends at work and it reawakens their childhood memories of...Read More
